Michael Cohen Says Special Counsel Has ‘Substantial Amount of Information’ to Corroborate His Claims

Former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen is going to jail for campaign finance violations, and he says the president directed him to commit crimes.
Former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen is going to jail for campaign finance violations, and he says President Donald Trump directed him to commit crimes.
In an interview with ABC News that aired Friday, Cohen said that the special counsel investigating Trump and his campaign led by Robert Mueller has evidence that backs up his claims.
Cohen told George Stephonopolus that even though he lied to Congress initially, people can believe him now because there is evidence to back him up.
“The special counsel stated emphatically that the information that I gave to them was credible and helpful,” he said. “There’s a substantial amount of information that they possess that corroborates the fact that I am telling the truth.”
The former Trump lawyer told Stephonopolus he no longer has any loyalty to the president.
“I am done with the lying. I am done being loyal to President Trump and my first loyalty belongs to my wife, my daughter, my son and this country.
