WWE TLC 2018 Results: Dean Ambrose Beats Seth Rollins, Who Is Now On Track To Face Brock Lesnar

WWE TLC 2018 marked the end of Seth Rollins’ Intercontinental title reign, but his loss to Dean Ambrose means he’s headed for a feud with Brock Lesnar.
Dean Ambrose defeated Seth Rollins at WWE TLC 2018 to become the Intercontinental Champion, which actually bodes well for the future of “The Architect.”

The feud between Rollins and Ambrose, which many expected to be one of WWE’s best rivalries of the year, has been, to put it mildly, disappointing, as was their match at TLC that generated chants of “This is boring!” from the crowd. The creative team has relied heavily on not-so-subtly using Roman Reigns’ leukemia diagnosis to generate heat for Ambrose, which hasn’t sat well with fans as it has come across as a sleazy and desperate attempt to make Ambrose a hated heel when there are countless other ways WWE could have accomplished the same goal. Turning Ambrose was the right move, but the execution of it has been done poorly, despite Ambrose’s surprisingly clean win over Rollins at TLC.
Typically, it’s not a good thing when a superstar loses a title, but for Rollins, bigger things await. Where that leaves Ambrose on the road to WrestleMania is unclear, though.
According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Wrestling Inc), Rollins, at least for the time being, is penciled in to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 35 in a match that will likely be for the Universal Championship. Although Braun Strowman is on track for a Royal Rumble title match against Lesnar, he isn’t expected to win the Universal title there as WWE reportedly has plans for Lesnar at WrestleMania 35 that will involve Rollins and Drew McIntyre, leaving Strowman out in the cold at WrestleMania for the third straight year.
