LOS ANGELES — Oh yeah, that bear was ticked.
Landry Shamet is new to the NBA, but he was right in assuming the Golden State Warriors weren’t going to take kindly to the rude awakening the Clippers gave them with their historic 31-point comeback victory on Monday in Oakland.
The Warriors stormed into Staples Center on Thursday, built another lead and, aware that no advantage is safe around the scrappy Clippers, kept their foot firmly on the gas, outplaying their hosts in every conceivable category en route to a 132-105 victory.
With the win, the Warriors took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven first-round series, what they hope is the first step on their way to their third consecutive NBA title.
Kevin Durant reminded everyone he was Kevin Durant. Maligned for relatively subdued offensive outputs in Games 1 (23 points) and 2 (21), the 10-time All-Star made his first six shots and 14 of 23 for 38 points, for his 56th career 30-point playoff game.
In the first half, Durant took 15 shots and made 10 of them en route to 27 points, tying his highest-scoring opening half in a playoff game.
