Kevin Smith visited the set of ‘Episode IX’ back in December of last year.
After a teaser trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker dropped on Friday, actor and director Kevin Smith raved about the sci-fi franchise’s latest installment.
Smith, 48, shared his excitement for Disney’s Rise of Skywalker teaser on Twitter. He also hinted that filmmaker J. Abrams allowed him to get an early glimpse at the making of the anticipated release.
“SPOILERS! This teaser is elegant and exciting! I got to witness J. doing the Lord’s work in person and what I saw and heard on #EpisodioIX took me back in time to 1977,1980 and 1983,” the Clerks star tweeted. “Rey’s TIE flip, Kylo masking up, and LANDO at last! @starwars Saga is going out Force-fully!”
Smith first opened up about his Episode IX set visit during a Good Morning America appearance back in December 2018. To visit the set, he was required to sign a non-disclosure agreement that prohibited him from revealing confidential information about the film.
While Smith couldn’t reveal much to the GMA hosts, the Star Wars megafan revealed that his set visit experience sparked an emotional reaction from him.
