An Oakland County native is finding success in the film industry, not only as an actress but now as a writer, director and editor.
And on Tuesday, she’ll showcase her talent in all of those roles in Bloomfield Twp. when two of her films screen — with one as the filmmaker and the other as the picture’s starring actor.
A one-night-only film screening at The Maple Theater will feature the work of Clare Cooney, 29, who is originally from Beverly Hills and attended Wylie E. Groves High School, but has gone on to work as a professional actress in Chicago.
According to her IMDb page, Cooney attended the University of Notre Dame and went on to attend the School at Steppenwolf in Chicago.
She’s since played roles on NBC’s “Chicago P. D.,” the 2018 Steven McQueen directed film “Widows,” the Pop TV series “Hot Date” and a number of independent feature films, a news release said.
