UPLAND, Ind. — Vice President Mike Pence was welcomed to Taylor University with a standing ovation as the 48th and current vice president of the United States took center stage to give life advice to Taylor’s graduating class.
“The many Taylor grads I’ve worked with over the years are some of the smartest men and women I’ve ever known,” Pence told the crowded auditorium. He touted that his own White House staff had a Taylor graduate among its ranks.

He also relayed warm regards from Donald Trump, whom he spoke with on the phone prior to giving his commencement address.
The vice president spoke to the student body about his journey as a Christian and how his faith developed through his college years.
