Coronavirus positive test rate hits new low of 1.6% in Massachusetts

Massachusetts health officials on Friday reported 28 more people have died from the coronavirus and 152 new cases, as the test positive rate dips down to its lowest yet.
The state’s positive test rate for coronavirus has hit a new low of 1.6%, health officials announced Friday. The state also reported 28 more people have died from the virus and 152 new cases were reported.
The 28 new coronavirus deaths brings the state’s COVID-19 death toll to 8,081, the state Department of Public Health announced. The three-day average of coronavirus daily deaths has dropped from 161 at the start of May to 19 now.
The state has logged 105,290 cases of the highly contagious disease, an increase of 152 confirmed cases since Thursday. Of the 105,290 total cases, at least 94,347 people have recovered according to a Wednesday public health report.
