Somerville is delaying its Phase 3 reopening — which includes gyms and movie theaters — until July 20.
Gyms, movie theaters and other large indoor venues will have to wait another week to reopen in Somerville.
The city announced Friday it was delaying the first step of its Phase 3 reopening until July 20.
“Research shows that the risk of coronavirus transmission is significantly higher in indoor spaces and that larger events and gatherings can lead to exponentially more virus spread if an infected person is present,” Doug Kress, director of Health and Human Services, said in a statement.
