Jacob Blake on Sunday said that “every 24 hours there’s pain” as he released a video from his hospital bed after being shot seven times by police and left paralyzed from the waist down.
Sept.6 (UPI) — Jacob Blake said he has been in constant pain since he was shot seven times by police in Wisconsin last month leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. Attorney Ben Crump shared a video of Blake from his hospital bed on Saturday following the Aug.23 shooting in Kenosha that has brought renewed intensity to protests against police brutality in Wisconsin and other areas throughout the country. “Every 24 hours there’s pain,” Blake said in the video. “It hurts to breathe. It hurts to sleep. It hurts to move from side to side. It hurts to eat.” Blake also warned that “not only just your life, your legs — something that you need to move around and move forward in life” can be taken from you in the snap of a finger.
