The fallout continues following the FBI raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home last week.
There has been a rise in threats toward the FBI and Justice Department since the raid. Lawmakers are blaming Trump for encouraging his supporters to post violent attacks against law enforcement.
Trump said the FBI raid was unjustified and called on federal investigators to release the affidavit related to the search of his home “in the interest of transparency” after the search warrant was unsealed.
The Justice Department said it will not make the affidavit public because it concerns “highly sensitive information about witnesses.”
Meanwhile, Trump’s longtime financial chief Allen Weisselberg is expected to plead guilty this week in a tax evasion case related to the New York District Attorney investigation into Trump’s company.
