Nick Saban states Alabama's case to make College Football Playoff

Alabama coach Nick Saban asked the College Football Playoff selection committee to ask how teams are playing at present and pointed to the Crimson Tide’s 3-0 finish as a reason why they should be in.
With Alabama’s College Football Playoff future in limbo, coach Nick Saban said on Saturday that there was an argument for his team to be included among the top four and framed the debate over who’s in and who’s out with a single question: How are they playing at present?
The question lends itself to Alabama’s defense, of course. The Crimson Tide, ranked fifth by the College Football Playoff Selection Committee last week, have two losses but finished the regular season with three straight wins.
Ohio State, ranked fourth, has only one loss. But that loss — a 45-23 defeat at home to rival Michigan — came on the final weekend of the regular season.
When No. 4 USC lost to No. 11 Utah in the Pac 12 Championship Game on Saturday, it likely opened up a spot among the top four.
