SNL Mocks Herschel Walker Gaffes, Comes Up With 'Plan B' for Georgia Runoff

The sketch addressed Herschel Walker’s reported scandals that could cost him the Georgia Senate run-off election.
Saturday Night Live took aim at Republican Herschel Walker and came up with a “Plan B” for the GOP to keep him out of trouble ahead of the Georgia Senate runoff election.
With only days left before final votes are cast in Georgia, James Austin Johnson as Mitch McConnell came up with an unusual solution to shore up the Republican’s chances.
During SNL’s cold open, Johnson’s McConnell acknowledged during crunch talks at the White House that the Republicans “face an uphill battle” with the Democrats’ Raphael Warnock polling roughly 10 points ahead of Walker.
Moments later Kenan Thompson, as Walker, stepped into the room and greeted Johnson as “Mitch McDonald’s” before apologizing for being late as he was “having too much fun in that free merry-go-round you have out front.”
“That’s a revolving door,” Johnson said before asking Thompson’s Walker to sit down for a strategy meeting with John Cornyn and Marsha Blackburn, portrayed by Mikey Day and Cecily Strong respectively.
When asked whether he knew Cornyn, Thompson simply said “no,” before being introduced to Blackburn who he referred to as “your highness.”
Thompson then expressed a positive outlook for his chances on Tuesday, adding: “My ex-wife said all I do is run off.”
Strong’s Blackburn said polling was “close” with Warnock polling at 59.4 percent while Walker stood at 49.1 percent.
“Well, the first priority is to figure out which [number] is bigger,” Thompson’s Walker said.
