The Bears’ search for a defensive end before Tuesday afternoon’s trade deadline landed at least one depth piece: the Browns’ Joe Tryon-Shoyinka.
The Bears traded a sixth-round pick in next year’s draft and will get a seventh-rounder in return, a source told the Sun-Times.
Tryon-Shoyinka is a rental — he signed a one-year, $4.75 million deal in March. He barely played for the Browns this year, logging just 31 snaps this season and playing 58 on special teams.
He fits defensive coordinator Dennis Allen’s preference for size at defensive end, though, measuring in 6-5, 260 lbs.
