Katy Tur asked the MSNBC crew Wednesday if Fox News had a “responsibility” to replace ousted-host Bill O’Reilly with “someone who is not a white male.”
“That’s a question I cannot answer,” Wall Street Journal’s Joe Flint first stated when Tur asked who would replace Fox’s former ratings king.
“I will tell you this,” he continued. “They went in and brought in Tucker Carlson [to replace Megyn Kelly] which no one saw coming.”
“It hasn’t even been a blip. The ratings have continued to go up under Tucker.”
WATCH:
“They’ve got three white men, or they had three white men — Bill O’Reilly, Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity — in their prime time lineup,” Tur then posed to her fellow MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle. “Do you think Fox News has a responsibility to vary it up? Bring another woman in? Maybe try to bring in someone who is not a white man?”
“Do they have a responsibility?” Ruhle responded. “Not necessarily.”
Despite Tur’s pontification, Fox ended up replacing O’Reilly with Carlson. (RELATED: Tucker Takes Over For O’Reilly, ‘The Five’ Heads To 9 PM)
