The folks at Android aren’t the most efficient when it comes to Android Wear updates. Developers have been playing catch up for Android Wear smartwatches for quite some time now, most notable for delay of the Android Wear 2.0 roll out. We have just received news that a new update is in the pipeline for Android Wear devices, which will include Android Oreo based features.
The new Android Wear update which has begun rolling out has a couple of handy features which might come in useful on a wearable. These brand new features include being able to adjust the strength setting of notification vibrations and the length of vibrations. One other notable feature is the Touch Lock feature, which is similar to theater mode, meant for wet conditions to avoid accidental touches from rain drops or splashes.
Other mentioned features are notification channels, battery saving background limits and support for 7 new countries and their languages. The list might be longer but this is all we know for now. Rumor also has it that the LG Watch Sport has seen the light of the rollout. The update will hit other wearables in the future, depending on the respective manufacturers.
