Pokemon GO’s latest patch is currently rolling out to Android and iOS devices and the update fixes an incredibly annoying bug that made mass evolutions very difficult.
Despite being incredibly popular and addictive, Pokemon GO is a game that is constantly fighting bugs. The mobile game’s developers release frequent patches to fix problems that the community finds, but constant changes to the game lead to other bugs and the work never ends. Luckily, the latest Pokemon GO update solves one of the problems that has made mass evolutions way more time consuming than they should be.
A recent update caused a new problem where the collection screen would scroll to the top after each evolution or transfer. For players trying to get maximum value out of their lucky eggs, this was a bit of a nightmare scenario. The community loudly complained about the issue and Niantic was quickly on the case. A fix for this bug and a few other quality of life improvements are the focus of the patch that is currently being rolled out to Android and iOS devices.
This is the description of the latest update from Niantic:
Pokémon GO is in the process of being updated to version 0.89.1 for Android and 1.59.1 for iOS devices. Details from our development team: Resolved a bug that caused the Pokémon collection screen to scroll to the top after evolving, transferring, or renaming a Pokémon.
Added the ability to sort the Pokédex by region.
Improved incubator sorting order when selecting an incubator.
Improved the way Pokémon scale throughout the app.
Various bug fixes and performance updates.
This patch has a lot of players breathing a sign of relief, but Niantic has lots of other bugs or feature requests to work on next. In order to keep a grasp on the large playerbase, the company needs to continue improving the game every month.
It’s unlikely that the logged in users will ever reach those summer 2016 numbers again, but the game is still incredibly profitable. Keeping the players happy and busy will help Niantic to keep that money rolling in for as long as possible.
Pokemon GO is available now on Android and iOS devices in select regions.
