Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+, have been in the news over the past few months and leaks regarding both these smartphones won’t end till the time they’re officially unveiled. A few hours ago, the battery capacities of these devices were revealed and now we have more details regarding the launch dates of these handsets.
According to the information from an anonymous executive from a major case maker, the launch of the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will happen on February 26, and the information has been relayed by prolific leakster @evleaks on Twitter. The expected time frame of the launch matches MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2018’s schedule, which means that the South Korean smartphone giant will return to its schedule of launching its S series flagship smartphone at the world’s biggest phone expo. The pre-orders of these smartphones are expected to begin from March 3,2018 and they could be shipped as soon as March 16.
The launch time frame for the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ was revealed by Samsung co-CEO DJ Koh at the CES 2018 exhibition last week, indicating that the upcoming flagship smartphones from Samsung will be launched next month. Apart from that, he also had also revealed that the release of the smartphones will be announced at the same event. However, we should remember that there’s a lot of time remaining before the commencement of MWC 2018 and Samsung might change in case of any production issue or quality control issues.
The specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ were leaked recently. They are expected to feature Infinity Displays, dust and water-resistant bodies, AKG-tuned stereo speakers, and wireless charging. The Galaxy S9 could sport a 5.8-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED screen, a single rear-facing camera, and 4GB RAM. On the other hand, the Galaxy S9+ could come with a 6.2-inch QHD+ screen, dual rear-facing camera, and 6GB of RAM. There’s no doubt that both these smartphones will use a Snapdragon 845 chipset (in China and the US) or the Exynos 9810 chipset (in other markets).
