The forthcoming Huawei P20 Pro smartphone will feature a 40-megapixel sensor as one of the rumoured three-camera system, reports on Tuesday revealed. Accor. Huawei P20 Pro to have highest resolution smartphone camera in years?.
According to WinFuture sources the main lens will have a 3x optical zoom and will be joined by a 20-megapixel monochrome lens and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens.
Meanwhile, the front facing camera will be an impressive 24-megapixels, according to the report.
The leak comes exactly a week before Huawei plans to launch the Huawei P20 range at a press event in Paris on March 27.
The P20 Pro will be the flagship device, with the P20 and P20 light slightly farther down the trough respectively.
The German site has also posted a host of purported images and specification for the P20 Pro, which it says will arrive with Android 8.1 Oreo.
According to the sources it’ll cost 899 Euros (around £786) and feature a Kirin 970 processor with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
The battery will be a capacious 4,000mAh, while there’ll be Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C connectivity. The headphone jack hasn’t made the cut, the report says.
A 6.1-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2240 x 1080 will present Huawei’s version of Android. It’ll be 7.65mm thin with a weight of 174 grams, the report says, while the device is going to be IP67 certified.
Buyers will be able to choose between Ceramic Black, Midnight Blue and Twilight (pictured).
The 40-megapixel resolution will likely make most of the headlines though, falling just short of the 41-megapixel PureView cameras Nokia debuted on some of its better Windows Phone handsets.
