Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is now official as the successor of the Galaxy Note 8. The Note 9 largely resembles its predecessor in terms and as numerous leaks had revealed before is launch, the only major change in its appearance is the re-positioned fingerprint scanner. Here are some of the hands-on images of the Galaxy Note 9 to find what improvements has Samsung brought on it this year.
The Galaxy Note 9 may look like the Note 8, but there are few design changes that have been introduced on it. The engineers at Samsung have reduced the bezels even more and cut down the thickness of the metallic frame of the Galaxy Note 9. Ocean Blue, Lavender Purple, Midnight Black and Metallic Copper are the color variants of the smartphone. Among these, only the Note 9 features a yellow colored S Pen. The other hues of the smartphones come with same colored stylus.
The Galaxy Note 8 measured 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.6mm and weighed 195 grams. The dimensions of the Galaxy Note 9 are 161.9 x 76.8 x 8.8 and it weighs 201 grams. Compared to the predecessor, the Note 9 is slightly wider and heavier probably because a larger battery of 4,000mAh capacity. The Note 8 included a 3,300mAh battery.
Moving to the backside of the phablet, its fingerprint scanner is now separated from the dual camera which reduces the risk of touch camera lenses while unlocking it. The rest of the rear panel appears simple. The glass back of the phone easily attracts finger marks.
The bottom edge of the Galaxy Note 9 is quite crowded as it features S Pen slot, external speaker, USB-C and 3.5mm audio jack. Even though there are many openings on the Note 9, it is an IP68 rated waterproof and dustproof device. The overall appearance of the smartphone is sleek.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 features a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display that is curved towards its left and right edges. The elongated 18.5:9 Infinity Display is one of the attractive features of the Note 9. The QHD+ resolution screen produces vibrant colors and offers good viewing experience.
The Galaxy Note 9 is packed with improved internals. Depending on the market, the Note 9 is powered either by Exynos 9810 or Snapdragon 845. The base model features 128 GB storage + 6 GB RAM and the highest configuration variant include 512 GB storage + 8 GB RAM. Samsung has also installed a huge water-cooling system inside the Note 9 to keep the internal temperature under control.
The 4,000mAh battery of the smartphone carries support for Quick Charge 2.0. The Galaxy Note 9 users can take advantage of desktop PC experience by using a small dongle that connects to HDMI. can It no longer needs a DeX dock to work.
The OIS enabled dual 12-megapixel rear camera with variable aperture that is available on the Galaxy S9+ has been added on to the Galaxy Note 9. It features a front-facing camera of 8-megapixel. The camera samples of the Note 9 will soon surface to reveal how good is it photography prowess compared to its rivals.
The Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) enabled S Pen that makes it possible to use it from up to 30 feet away is one of the USPs of the Galaxy Note 9. The S Pen button works like a remote control key which can be used for clicking next or previous during a presentation, browse albums on the music player, play or pause during a video and so on. Instead of a battery, the S Pen includes a supercapacitor which can be charged. By charging it for 40 second, it can deliver a battery life of 40 minutes.

In the U. S., the 128 GB and 512 GB editions of the Galaxy Note 9 are respectively priced at $999 and $1,249. Its pre-orders will begin on Aug. 10 and its shipping date is Aug. 24.
