Xiaomi Mi 8 with 8GB/128GB configuration in White color option goes on sale today in China. The high-end RAM variant could soon land in India
Xiaomi Mi 8 with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage in White color will go on sale in China from today. The flagship smartphone from the Chinese smartphone and electronics giant was hereto available in 6GB RAM and different storage variants.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 White edition with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage now joins black and blue variants that are already available in 6GB RAM and 64GB, 128GB or 256GB internal memory option. Also, there’s even an 6GB/256GB variant of the Mi 8 in White color. Apart from the white color, the rest of the specifications of the Xiaomi smartphone are identical to the other variants.
The 8GB variant of the device goes on sale in China today, August 14. The Xiaomi Mi 8 with 8GB RAM + 128GB internal memory costs CNY 3,299. Strangely, even the 6GB + 256GB storage variant of the device costs the same. However, the variant with 128GB onboard storage and 6GB RAM sells for a lot less. It costs CNY 2,299 in China. Apart from the just launched White edition, the 8GB RAM Mi 8 variant comes in blue and black color options as well.

The features and specifications of the 8GB variant of the Xiaomi Mi 8 are identical to the standard variant, expect for the RAM. The smartphone sports a large 6.2-inch Full HD notched-display with 1080 x 2248 resolution. Also, the outdoor legibility is a strong suit of the device. An octa-core Snapdragon 845 chipset, paired with Adreno 630, powers the Xiaomi Mi 8. Along with 6/8GB of RAM the device ensures a seamless performance
The smartphone comes with a dual 12MP + 12MP camera set up at the back. Also, the sensors are accompanied by a dual LED flash. The flagship Android smartphone has a large 20MP front-facing camera to shoot selfies and make video calls via third-party apps.
A sufficiently large 3,400mAh non-removable battery powers the smartphone. Also, the Xiaomi Mi 8 ships with support for Fast Charging. The smartphone is the first mobile phone in the world that comes with a dual-frequency GPS with location accuracy up to a decimeter-level.
The Mi 8 comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint reader and Infrared face recognition. The other sensors onboard include an accelerometer, gyro, proximity, barometer, and compass. The notch on the screen of the device houses the proximity sensor, the frontal imaging piece, earpiece and the notification light. Also, other connectivity features include 4G with VoLTE support, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, dual SIM structure, NFC, and a USB Type-C reversible connector. Sadly, it lacks the 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 with 8GB RAM comes in White, Blue and Black color options only, whereas the standard variant of the smartphone comes in multiple color options including Black, Gold, Grey, and Silver which sport identical prices. Also, Xiaomi has not priced the White color option differently. The device goes on sale today at 10AM on August 14.
The translated price of Xiaomi Mi 8 8GB variant comes to around Rs. 33,500 in India. However, Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed the higher-end variant’s Indian availability. The base variant of the device comes with 6GB RAM and 64GB expandable onboard storage. It sells for CNY 2,699 that translates to approximately Rs. 27,500.

Interestingly, the Mi 8 comes in different editions. There’s a Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition, Mi 8SE, Mi 8X, and even a Youth Edition with slightly varying specifications and features, and corresponding different prices as well. The Mi 8 Youth Edition and the Mi 8 SE have a slightly lesser Snapdragon 710 SoC, and 3,240mAh battery.
