Former President Barack Obama ripped into Donald Trump during a pair of South Florida campaign stops, accusing the president of having no plan for the COVID-19 pandemic, no Republican health care plans and a complete disinterest in the job. At a drive-in rally on Saturday afternoon, Obama spoke to dozens of Miami residents amid honking, cheers and supportive signs, one of which read „Obama Saved My Son.“ The former president touted his former Vice President Joe Biden and running mate Kamala Harris‘ Democratic Party challenge to a second Trump term in the White House. Obama honed in on Trump acting as if the novel coronavirus never existed as more than 200,000 Americans died from the virus in just the past seven months. Obama mocked Trump for fleeing a recent 60 Minutes interview and said, „even his TV ratings are down.“ „‚Florida Man‘ wouldn’t even do this stuff. Why are we accepting it from the president,“ Obama said in one of many quips at the expense of Trump. Obama painted a scathing portrait of Trump’s four years in office, accusing him of overseeing the destruction of 100,000 small businesses and having „completely screwed up“ the U.S. pandemic response in an embarrassing failure of leadership. „Trump wants full credit for the economy he inherited and zero blame for the pandemic he ignored,“ Obama said with a scoff. „As a general rule, this is not a person who likes to take responsibility for anything.
