„One Battle After Another“ and „The White Lotus“ lead the pack of 2026 Golden Globe nominees.
With the announcement of the 2026 Golden Globe nominees, Hollywood’s awards season is officially in full swing.
Marlon Wayans and “Matlock” star Skye P. Marshall announced the nominations, which honor both movies and television, early Monday morning.
Leading the pack of this year’s film nominations is the Leonardo DiCaprio starrer “One Battle After Another,” which picked up nine nods, including best picture (drama), best director for Paul Thomas Anderson, and acting nods for stars DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Teyana Taylor, Chase Infiniti and Benicio del Toro.
On the TV front, “The White Lotus” led with six nominations, including best drama series and nods for actors Walton Goggins, Jason Isaacs, Carrie Coon, Parker Posey and Aimee Lou Wood.
The morning’s biggest snub came in the Best Picture: Musical or Comedy category, in which “Wicked: For Good” was surprisingly left out.
The film did manage to earn nods for its two buzzy performances from Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. Erivo makes Globes history with her nomination, becoming the first black woman to earn two nods for lead actress in a comedy/musical film.
“Euphoria” star Jacob Elordi snagged two nominations for his work in both movies and television: one supporting actor film nod for his role as The Creature in “Frankenstein,” and one for his silver screen work on miniseries “The Narrow Road to the Deep North.”
Meanwhile, Elordi’s “Euphoria” co-star Sydney Sweeney failed to pick up a nomination for her performance as boxer Christy Martin in the sports drama “Christy.”
Glen Powell also earned a surprise nod for his role as a star quarterback in the Hulu comedy “Chad Powers.”
In addition to the freshly announced nominees, the Globes will also honor Helen Mirren and Sarah Jessica Parker with two prestigious special awards during a brand-new “Golden Eve” primetime special on Jan. 8, 2026, on CBS and Paramount+.
Mirren will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award for “Hollywood’s greatest talents,” previously bestowed upon the likes of Meryl Streep, Denzel Washington and Oprah Winfrey.
Meanwhile, Parker, for her “outstanding contributions to television,”will be presented with the Carol Burnett Award, whose previous recipients include Ellen DeGeneres, Ted Danson and Burnett herself.
The 83rd annual Golden Globes, hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser, will take place on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026 at 5pm PT, airing on CBS and Paramount+.
