Last year, as the two leaders exchanged insults on social media, President Donald Trump repeatedly called Kim \u201cRocket Man\u201d and \u201cLittle Rocket Man.\u201d
The Rocket Man CD became the topic of discussion during Trump\u2019s meeting with Kim during a summit in Singapore last month, according to the Chosun Ilbo, a leading newspaper in South Korea. The other gift was a letter from Trump, Fox said.
During the Singapore summit, Kim reportedly referred to the nickname and Trump asked him if he ever heard \u201cRocket Man.\u201d Trump then asked Pompeo to take a copy of the CD to give to Kim.
Pompeo went to North Korea for continued denuclearization talks between the two countries, Fox News reported .
When Pompeo landed at Sunan International Airport in Pyongyang, he was greeted on the tarmac by Vice Chairman Kim Yong Chul, Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho and other officials, according to Fox News. The State Department tweeted photos of Pompeo arriving in North Korea.
While in North Korea, Pompeo is expected to find out the specifics of Kim\u2019s denuclearization plan. Part of the idea is to dispel skepticism over whether Kim is serious about depleting his nuclear arsenal, Fox News reported.
It was not clear if Pompeo would meet with Kim, as he had done before, or with a representative. While traveling to Pyongyang, Pompeo noted that both countries made commitments during the Singapore summit to work toward the \u201ccomplete denuclearization of North Korea and on what a transformed bilateral relationship might look like,\u201d the report stated.
\u201cOn this trip, I\u2019m seeking to fill in some details on these commitments and continue the momentum toward implementation of what the two leaders promised each other and the world. I expect that the DPRK is ready to do the same,\u201d Pompeo said in published reports.
On Thursday, Trump was asked if he believes North Korea is hiding nuclear facilities. He responded, \u201cWe\u2019ll see. All I can tell you is this. You haven\u2019t had one missile launch and you haven\u2019t had one rocket launch or you haven\u2019t had any nuclear tests.\u201d<\/p>\n
