Jurors have found James Alex Fields, Junior guilty of first-degree murder in the death of Heather Heyer. The jury also returned guilty verdicts on all of the other charges.<\/b>
\nJurors have the option to find the 21-year-old Ohio man guilty of lesser charges: Second-degree murder or involuntary manslaughter, instead of first-degree murder; Aggravated malicious wounding could be downgraded to malicious wounding or unlawful wounding. It is up to the jurors to decide if they accept the commonwealth’s argument that Fields acted with premeditation, intent, and malice, or the defense’s claim that he acted out of fear.<\/p>\n
