\nAn off-duty firefighter was killed in a car crash on the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn early Sunday morning, police and sources said.
The unidentified 33-year-old smoke eater crashed his 2008 Ford Mustang on the parkway near Bay 8th Street in Bath Beach at about 4:45 a.m., cops said.
Police and medics responded and found him outside of the car with severe head trauma, authorities said.
He was rushed to Coney Island Hospital and declared dead.
Authorities are investigating the crash.<\/p>\n
