Georgia singer Jacquees has never been shy about talking up his talents, and he made his boldest claim yet when he posted a video proclaiming himself to be the best R&B performer currently going.\u201dI just wanna let everybody know that I\u2019m the king of R&B right now,\u201d he said.
\u201cFor this generation, I understand who done came and who done did that and that and that, but now it\u2019s my time. Jacquees the king of R&B.\u201d
Given Jacquees\u2019 relative lack of stardom, and the fact that he has not yet notched a hit song of his own, many were quick to give him grief over such a bold statement. This wasn\u2019t limited to R&B fans either, as fellow singers, and those who could realistically make a better case for being the \u201cKing of R&B\u201d, decided to step up and roast Jacquees for his claims.
Both Trey Songz and Ty Dolla $ign responded to singer\u2019s post on Twitter with a laughing emoji, indicating that neither hit-maker was particularly threatened by what he had to say.

Other artists had lengthier responses. Chicago crooner J. Holiday took to Instagram to post a video message explaining why Jacquees is off the mark. \u201cThat bullsh*t that man said,\u201d Holiday explained.
\u201cThere\u2019s three kings of R&B\u2026 the first one sold 20 million on the first album\u2026 The second king of R&B, is from Chicago.\u201d Holiday is presumably referring to R. Kelly, who has been referred to by many as the \u201cKing of R&B\u201d throughout his career.

Every artist is supposed to believe they can fly but only one man made it happen. @rkelly body of work is still bible. I love ALL of the artist out now and some are having amazing success but to be the King you have to beat the King and his stats still stand. Second if you can\u2019t go in the studio BY YOURSELF and make a hit record you\u2019re not my king! If you can\u2019t sing it better live than you\u2019re not my king!
