I need you with me.“<br \/>Warren said in September she would take a „hard look“ at running for the Democratic nomination. The former Harvard Law School professor campaigned with Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in 2016 and attacked Mr Trump as an „insecure money-grubber“ driven by greed and hate.<br \/>Mr Trump has cast aspersions on Ms Warren’s claim to Native American ancestry, referring to her as ‚Pocahontas‘. In October, Warren released DNA analysis she said supported her assertion she had Native American lineage that goes back six to 10 generations.<br \/>Trump, who had promised $1m to her favourite charity if she took a DNA test that showed she had Native American blood, greeted the results with a shrug, saying, „Who cares?“<br \/>Mr Trump’s use of the name Pocahontas refers to a 17th century Native American woman associated with the British colony in Jamestown, Virginia. His mocking reference has drawn criticism from some Native American groups while others criticised Ms Warren for trying to lay claim to a tribal nation.<br \/>Ms Warren, an architect of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau set up after the 2008 financial crisis, has been a strong voice in the US Senate on financial issues and a self-described defender of the ordinary American against powerful interests.<br \/>Those themes were reflected on her website yesterday, which portrays Warren as a product of the American dream that has slipped out of reach for too many Americans.<br \/>„Elizabeth grew up on the ragged edge of the middle- class in Oklahoma and became a teacher, law professor and US senator because America invested in kids like her,“ it says.<br \/>Earlier this month Julian Castro (44), who served as mayor of San Antonio as well as secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development under Democratic President Barack Obama, said he was forming an exploratory committee and would announce his intentions on January 12. In 2017, former Democratic congressman John Delaney of Maryland announced he would seek the party’s nomination.<br \/>Meanwhile, the first big battle between Mr Trump and Nancy Pelosi, Democratic Leader of the House, looms as Democrats come into control ready to reassert the power of the legislative branch and confront the White House.<br \/>Trump is counting on public support as he holds out for funds to build the wall on the Mexican border. But Ms Pelosi believes the public will be on Democrats‘ side as they try to get government working again, and move on to health care and other priorities – including oversight of the White House.<br \/>As the shutdown drags into a second week, shuttering popular Smithsonian museums and creating hardship among 800,000 federal workers, the stalemate is fast becoming a test of wills rarely seen when Republicans had monopoly control of government.<br \/>„We’re going to do our job,“ said Jim McGovern, incoming chairman of the Rules Committee, vowing to pass legislation to re-open government. „The president should take ‚yes‘ for an answer and go back to tweeting.“<br \/>Irish Independent<br \/>Nick Allen FIVE years ago, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas said the traditional film industry was heading for a „meltdown“, undercut by internet streaming services like Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime…<br \/>Julie Allen US PRESIDENT Donald Trump has ordered a slowdown to the withdrawal of US forces in Syria, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said.<br \/>Doina Chiacu US Senator Elizabeth Warren, a progressive Democrat who has exchanged stinging insults with President Donald Trump, said she has formed an exploratory committee to run for president in 2020.<br \/>As he faces into 2019, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar knows that he will have to…<br \/>There are times where you would be forgiven…<br \/>A ‚pacemaker‘
