Carlisle has been rumored as a candidate to coach the Milwaukee Bucks if the team chooses to part ways with Mike Budenholzer after this season. The move comes just a day after general manager Donnie Nelson parted ways with the Mavericks after 24 seasons in the organization, meaning the Mavericks are set for drastic offseason management changes. There are now seven head coaching vacancies in the NBA. Along with the Mavericks, the other teams looking for a new coach are the Boston Celtics, Portland Trail Blazers, Washington Wizards, Indiana Pacers, Orlando Magic and New Orleans Pelicans.
