A decrease in forward motion is expected before the storm turns to the northwest and heads into the Florida Straits on Monday. Elsa is forecast to approach the western coast of Florida on Tuesday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend 125 miles from center. Elsa is located 70 miles east-northeast of Kingston, Jamaica, and is moving west-northwest at 13 mph. Storm surge of 3 to 5 feet is possible along the southern coast of Cuba and 2 to 4 feet on the southern coast of Hispaniola.
