\nThe music has been drowned out. Bonnaroo is canceled for the second straight year, organizers announced Tuesday. The music festival\u2019s campgrounds in southeast Tennessee are too waterlogged to handle vehicles, organizers said. The remnants of Hurricane Ida dumped several inches of rain across Tennessee after the storm made landfall Sunday in Louisiana. \u201cWe have done everything in our power to try to keep the show moving forward, but Mother Nature has dealt us a tremendous amount of rain over the past 24 hours, and we have run out of options to try to make the event happen safely and in a way that lives up to the Bonnaroo experience,\u201d read a social media post from the festival. Bonnaroo was also canceled last year due to COVID-19. The event usually takes place in June, but was moved to Sept.2 through Sept.5 this year. The cancellation announcement came too late for some ticket-holders, who\u2019d already arrived near Manchester, Tenn., on Tuesday. \u201cWe had some expectations that things wouldn\u2019t be quite the same,\u201d Josh Petefish told the Nashville Tennessean after arriving from Iowa. \u201cMaybe they would cut people off on a certain day… being totally canceled is not something we expected to be possible.\u201d Megan Thee Stallion, Lizzo, Foo Fighters and Tyler, The Creator were among the scheduled headliners at this year\u2019s show. All tickets purchased through Bonnaroo\u2019s platform will be refunded within 30 days, organizers said.<\/p>\n
