One of the women was found in a hallway and another in an office following the attack at the National Church Residences Gateway Village in Capitol Heights, police said. The accused shooter, who surrendered to police without any incident, was believed to be a resident at the facility who was reportedly upset at the staff. A witness who lives at Gateway Village told reporters that the suspect was likely retaliating because of the way \u201cthey treat the seniors\u201d there. Police have not released details about their investigation or the names of anyone involved. But they said they were called to the scene shortly after 9 a.m. for a report of a disturbance inside facility and immediately encountered a man who told them there was a shooter in the building. Cops found the two victims within minutes and called for backup as the shooter\u2019s location was still unknown, Capitol Heights Police Chief Mark Cummings told reporters at a news conference. The suspect was eventually found on the third floor, lying in the hallway \u201cwith his arms stretched out and his weapon like 6 feet away in front of him,\u201d a witness identified only as Donald told local news outlet WJLA.
