DC FanDome unveils new trailer for „The Batman!“<\/b>
\nToday is Warner Bros.\u2019 fan event extravaganza DC FanDome, unveiling all of the upcoming films, TV\/streaming series and movies, games, comics, and more based on DC Comics characters. One of the most anticipated reveals of the day was the brand new trailer for director Matt Reeves\u2019 upcoming Batman reboot film The Batman starring Robert Pattinson in the title role, and it did not disappoint. FanDome has gone swimmingly, with plenty of cool behind-the-scenes looks and previews of upcoming projects, including a terrific first-look scene from Black Adam and a fun Suicide Squad and Peacemaker segment moderated by James Gunn himself. And of course, there\u2019s Batman. We actually got a look at multiple Batmen (Batmans?), or at least a glimpse of more than one, because DC FanDome included a surprise teaser trailer for The Flash, with an appearance by none other than Michael Keaton\u2019s cinematic version of Batman. Missing from the teaser was Ben Affleck\u2019s Batman, but we know he makes an appearance, so fans should have no fear in that regard. We are just 16 weeks away from the March 4th release of The Batman next year, and Matt Reeves was on hand for FanDome to share some eye-popping looks at his film, including a bit of behind the scenes. Over the previous few days, Reeves released a series of official posters and still images for The Batman, which you can enjoy below… Now without further ado, here is the new and awesome trailer for The Batman… I\u2019ve been enthusiastic for Matt Reeves\u2019 version of Batman since literally before he was even hired to make it, and everything I\u2019ve seen so far exceeds my hopes for what The Batman could be. I love the new costume, which achieves both the \u201cgrounded\u201d armored look simultaneously with a sinister and supernatural impression. It\u2019s scary, intimidating, and walks the line nicely. I can imagine this Batman being an urban legend at the start, and his career always maintaining a large degree of mystique and rumor. I also love the crime thriller feel. They\u2019re not just giving lip service to the idea when they say it has \u201cnoir\u201d sensibilities. I\u2019ve said before, Reeves\u2019 vision seems exactly like what I long hoped would happen after Christopher Nolan departed the franchise \u2014 a continuation of the \u201cgrounded\u201d approach, but pushing the boundaries of \u201crealism\u201d even more and having the \u201cfreaks\u201d overrun Gotham, and with a lot more crime\/detective elements worked into the plots. And of all characters to bring to such a vision, Reeves also chose precisely the main villains I\u2019d always felt best fit for kicking off that approach \u2014 the Riddler and Penguin. We get to see more of them in the new trailer, as well as Catwoman and the larger world of Gotham City and the Gotham PD, and fans should be aware that there\u2019s still more character reveals to come. I can\u2019t wait to see more of what\u2019s in store from The Batman, but on the other hand I actually enjoy the anticipation and element of surprise.
