\nThe investigation into Alec Baldwin\u2019s deadly shooting could involve interviews with more than 100 people \u2014 with the main focus on how live bullets ever made it onto a movie set, the sheriff leading the probe said Thursday. \u201cThe key questions that we\u2019re focusing on during our investigation is how the live rounds ended up on set, who brought them to the set and why they were on the set,\u201d Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza told \u201cGood Morning America\u201d host Robin Roberts. \u201cAs far as we understand, live rounds should not be on set\u2026 everybody that we\u2019ve spoken to knows that live rounds should not be on set,\u201d he said. \u201cWhy they were there is going to be the main question,\u201d he told Roberts, saying they \u201chaven\u2019t\u201d yet fully figured out how it happened. \u201cWe\u2019ve got some initial statements,\u201d he said \u2014 while stressing that it will likely be a lengthy process that could \u201cbroaden\u201d into looking at complaints already raised over some of the key crew members\u2019 work on previous movies. \u201cThere was probably close to 100 people total that were on-set, so interviews are continuing,\u201d he said of the New Mexico set where cinematographer Halyna Hutchins,42, died last Thursday. \u201cWhen we interview people, more information comes to light so it may turn out to be more interviews than just the people on scene,\u201d Mendoza told \u201cGMA.\u201d \u201cWe may delve into other safety issues on other sets, or other sets that maybe the armorer or any of the other staff worked. So this could go on \u2026 it may broaden,\u201d he said. The sheriff repeated his claim that there was clear \u201ccomplacency\u201d by crew members responsible for ensuring gun safety on the set. \u201cJust the facts that have come to light so far during the interviews in the investigation, there was complacency, that\u2019s obvious,\u201d he said. \u201cI think there was some disorganization and some safety issues and protocols that weren\u2019t properly followed. But again, those are issues that we\u2019ll be focusing on in the investigation,\u201d he told \u201cGMA.\u201d So far, no charges have been filed over Hutchins\u2019 death, and on Wednesday Mendoza confirmed that Baldwin remains \u201can active part of this investigation.\u201d \u201cHe is obviously the person that fired the weapon,\u201d he told a press conference. That could potentially include charges for \u201cThe Shadow\u201d star, Santa Fe District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies said. \u201cNo one has been ruled out at this point\u2026 All options are on the table,\u201d she told the presser.<\/p>\n
