\nFormer President Donald Trump is doomed to lose if he runs for reelection, his former lawyer Michael Cohen predicted on Sunday. Cohen, fresh off a prison term for crimes related to his work for Trump, criticized the 45th president\u2019s claims that the 2020 election was stolen from him in an appearance on NBC\u2019s \u201cMeet the Press.\u201d \u201cOne of the things Donald Trump has done is grift off of the big lie that the election was stolen from him in 2020,\u201d Cohen said. \u201cIt was not stolen from him. If he loses, which he will in 2024, what happens to the big lie? The big lie disappears,\u201d he said. Cohen did a little more than a year behind bars for committing campaign finance crimes and lying to Congress. He spent the rest of his three-year sentence, which ended last week, in home confinement. Once serving as Trump\u2019s loyal \u201cfixer,\u201d Cohen turned against the former president in early 2018, and he says he has been cooperating with the Manhattan District Attorney\u2019s investigation into the Trump Organization. \u201cI truly believe that they could indict Donald Trump tomorrow if they really wanted, and be successful,\u201d Cohen said. Meanwhile, the congressional committee investigating the Jan.6 attack on the U.S. Capitol will soon make a decision on former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, Rep. Adam Schiff said on Sunday. The panel is weighing whether to refer Meadows to the Department of Justice on contempt of Congress charges, the California Democrat told CNN\u2019s \u201cState of the Union.\u201d \u201cI think we will probably make a decision this week on our course of conduct with that particular witness and maybe others,\u201d Schiff said. Earlier this month, Meadows, who is considered a key witness to the events of Jan.6, defied a subpoena from the committee. He was in close communication with Trump on the day throngs of his crazed supporters stormed Congress while lawmakers were meeting to certify the 2020 presidential election results.
