\nSing 2 was released in theaters across the U.S. on Wednesday, December 22. The animated film stars a whole host of A-list stars from Matthew McConaughey to Reese Witherspoon and Bono, and the cast not only lend their voices to their characters they also perform their songs. Sing 2 is set a short time after the events of the first movie and sees Buster Moon (McConaughey) and his troupe prepare a show in Redshore City, and they are tasked with getting reclusive rock star Clay Calloway (Bono) to also take part. As expected of a musical, there are numerous songs that are featured on the film’s soundtrack, and here is everything you need to know about them. With Bono taking a starring role in the animated sequel, fans of the singer will be delighted to know he and his bandmates in U2 perform an original song for the film, titled „Your Song Saved My Life.“ Cast members like Taron Egerton, who plays gorilla Johnny, and Scarlett Johansson, who plays teen porcupine Ash, also get to sing their own tracks. Egerton performs a rendition of „There’s Nothing Holdin‘ Me Back,“ „A Sky Full of Stars,“ and „Let’s Go Crazy“ alongside co-stars Tori Kelly, Reese Witherspoon and Nick Kroll. Johansson also sang alongside Bono for a new take on U2’s hit song „I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For“ for the film, among others. The last six songs are listed as bonus tracks.
