\nDemocratic Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley announced that she, along with a record-breaking number of Bostonians, Massachusetts residents, and Americans, has tested positive for COVID-19. \u201cAfter experiencing COVID-like symptoms, this morning I received a positive, breakthrough COVID-19 test result,\u201d she said in a statement. \u201cThankfully, my symptoms are relatively mild, and I am grateful to be fully vaccinated and boosted. I am currently isolating and following all health protocols in order to mitigate further spread and keep my loved ones and community safe.\u201d She added that she is grateful for the \u201cscientists, researchers, and frontline healthcare workers who have worked tirelessly to develop vaccines that are safe and effective, and ensure that our communities are protected,\u201d she added. She is not the first local politician to come down with a case of COVID. Senator Elizabeth Warren announced on Dec.19 that she, too, had a mild breakthrough case of COVID-19. Massachusetts reported its highest ever number of COVID-19 cases at 21,137 yesterday, as the Herald reported.<\/p>\n
