The recent launch of the monster-catching survival game has seen overwhelming success for developer Pocket Pair, amassing millions of players. The debut of Pocket Pair’s newest game on PC and Game Pass quickly took the internet by storm, with Steam reporting over 2 million concurrent players on Palworld. Now, the developer is warning fans about recent fake versions appearing on mobile devices.
The early popularity of Palworld has already seen fans clamoring for the game to arrive on other consoles, only launching on PC and Xbox consoles. PS4 and PS5 have been among the most common requests by fans, with Xbox’s console exclusivity leaving PlayStation players unable to experience the hot new indie game. Many fans have also requested for the game to come to Switch, though the company’s ongoing legal dilemma with The Pokemon Company may affect Palworld’s release on the console. Palworld has now come forward to address fake versions of the game popping up on mobile app stores.
In a new announcement shared to Palworld’s official social media, the developer is warning fans about fake mobile versions of the game. Pocket Pair states that Palworld currently does not have an official mobile version, suggesting that games under the Palworld branding on mobile are made by an unauthorized third party. The developer warned fans about the potential to compromise their personal information if fans download one of the fake mobile apps. Pocket Pair confirmed it has reported the issue to both Apple and Google. Pocket Pair Warns Against Fake Palworld Mobile Versions
While Palworld has not officially announced a mobile version, the developer did recently reveal it has a new mobile project in the works. An announcement from mobile game developer KLab Games late last week revealed that the studio will be partnering with Pocket Pair for a „hybrid-casual“ mobile game. The reveal did not confirm any details about what the game project would be, with KLab previously working on mobile games for anime franchises like Bleach. Pocket Pair has also already confirmed its next upcoming game with the Hollow Knight-like „Never Grave.“
Palworld’s overwhelming early popularity has not come without its fair share of controversy for the Japanese indie game developer. Pocket Pair has faced allegations of using AI art within the development of Palworld as well as plagiarism, with The Pokemon Company even commenting on the controversy. Palworld’s mods have also already seen notoriety, with a Pokemon mod for Palworld taken down just days after the game’s launch. Palworld’s success will continue to see fans asking for more ways to play the smash-hit monster-catching game.
Pocket Pair’s Palworld is a creature-collection game set in an open-world. Entering early access on January 19, 2024, the project blends survival, building, farming, monster breeding, and shooter elements.

Palworld developer Pocket Pair is warning fans about fake mobile versions of the game appearing on the App Store and Google Play Store.
