\nPresident Donald Trump continues to face questions over his administration’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files and his relationship with the accused sex trafficker.
The president on Thursday will have lunch with Vice President JD Vance and sign an executive order in the Oval Office. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt will hold a 1 p.m. ET briefing.
On the foreign policy front, Trump said he was going to try to get things „straightened out“ in the Middle East as a hunger crisis grips Gaza.
President Donald Trump posted on social media that he and Mexico\u2019s President Claudia Sheinbaum have agreed to extend the current tariff agreement between the U.S. and Mexico for 90 days to continue conversations.
\u201cThe complexities of a Deal with Mexico are somewhat different than other Nations because of both the problems, and assets, of the Border. We have agreed to extend, for a 90 Day period, the exact same Deal as we had for the last short period of time,\u201d Trump wrote.
This means a 25% tariff on non-USMCA compliant goods from Mexico, as well as a 50% tariff on steel, aluminum, copper and derivative products will remain in place.
Mexico has agreed to immediately terminate its non-tariff trade barriers, according to Trump.

On Thursday afternoon, President Donald Trump will sign an executive order that will expand the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition and bring back the Presidential Fitness Test in public schools, a White House Official confirmed to ABC News.
The order comes as Trump is set to oversee several major sports events in the US over the course of his second term, including the Ryder Cup, the FIFA World Cup in 2026 and the Olympics in 2028.

„Tariffs are making America GREAT & RICH Again“, Trump wrote on his conservative social media platform. „They were successfully used against the USA for decades and, coupled with really dumb, pathetic, and crooked politicians, we’re having a devastating impact on the future, and even the survival, of our country. Now the tide has completely turned, and America has successfully countered this onslaught of Tariffs used against it.“
In a second post, Trump thanked lawyers working to defend his tariff plans. Trump’s post comes as U.S. businesses and state leaders will argue in a federal appeals court on Thursday to nullify his tariffs.
„To all of my great lawyers who have fought so hard to save our Country, good luck in America’s big case today. If our Country was not able to protect itself by using TARIFFS AGAINST TARIFFS, WE WOULD BE „DEAD“, WITH NO CHANCE OF SURVIVAL OR SUCCESS. Thank you for your attention to this matter!“ Trump wrote.
The Third Circuit Court of Appeals has denied the Trump administration\u2019s attempt to re-detain Columbia University pro-Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil while it continues to appeal a federal judge\u2019s decision to release him.
A panel of three judges found that the Trump administration did not demonstrate it would suffer \u201cirreparable harm\u201d if Khalil was not detained again.
The court also partially rejected the government\u2019s request to pause U.S. District Judge Michael Farbiarz\u2019s order, which reaffirmed that Khalil cannot continue to be detained solely based on Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s assertion that his presence in the U.S. is harmful to the administration\u2019s foreign policy priorities.
The same day Khalil was released on bail, the immigration judge overseeing his removal proceedings found him removable based on Rubio\u2019s determination. Farbiarz found the immigration judge\u2019s decision \u201cdirectly inconsistent\u201d with his previous order.
However, the appeals court on Wednesday did not order the immigration judge to consider Khalil\u2019s request for a waiver of removability.
This case is widely thought to be headed toward the Supreme Court as the Trump administration has accused the District Court of overstepping its authority and intervening with the immigration judge\u2019s attempts to remove him from the country.<\/p>\n
