While light on details, concept art shows an unnamed kid looking very much like the iconic monster and using his breath attack, while Godzilla himself is in the background. The art gives off vibes of Kaiju No. 8, which is about a guy transforming into a monster, or even My Hero Academia, since the kid looks like Deku and that series is also about inheriting a mantle. Given Toho’s Chief Godzilla Officer Keiji Ota called the upcoming anime a chance to “more deeply portray both the fear and hope of the modern era,” these similarities are likely by design.
全世界解禁！
ゴジラ新作アニメシリーズ、制作決定。
シリーズ70年以上の歴史で初めて、“ゴジラの力を宿す少年”を主人公とした物語が始動。
その少年は、人か、ゴジラか—― pic.twitter.com/vfxcd2rJHo
ゴジラ (@godzilla_jp) November 29, 2025
What we do know about the series right now is it’ll be handled by Orange (Trigun Stampede and Stargaze) and Igloo Studio (My Daemon).
