Sutherland was arrested shortly after midnight Monday morning.<\/b>
\nActor Kiefer Sutherland, best known for his work on the drama \u201c24\u201d and in films including \u201cFlatliners\u201d and \u201cStand By Me,\u201d was free on bail Tuesday following his arrest in the Hollywood area.
The Los Angeles Police Department could not immediately provide details of his arrest, but NBC4 reported that Sutherland allegedly got into an altercation with a ride-hailing driver, and was booked on suspicion of criminal threats.
According to county jail records, Sutherland was arrested shortly after midnight Monday morning, with bail set at $50,000. He was released on bail shortly before noon Monday.
NBC4 reported the alleged altercation occurred near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue, with Sutherland allegedly assaulting the driver after entering the ride-hailing service vehicle. The encounter did not result in any serious injuries, the station reported.
Sutherland, 59, son of the late actor Donald Sutherland, won Emmy and Golden Globe awards for his portrayal of Jack Bauer in the Fox series \u201c24,\u201d which ran for about a decade. His other film credits include \u201cThe Lost Boys,\u201d \u201cYoung Guns,\u201d \u201cA Few Good Men\u201d and \u201cA Time to Kill.\u201d<\/p>\n
