Playing against a defense as good as the Texans in Sunday\u2019s 28-16 win, he did need a little assistance.
Enter Kayshon Boutte.
Boutte hauled in Maye\u2019s third touchdown pass of the day, one-handed over All-Pro cornerback Derek Stingley Jr.
Maye couldn\u2019t help but notice the similarities to the first touchdown pass of his career, which was also tossed down the right sideline to Boutte over Stingley.
\u201cHe keeps on making them,\u201d Maye said of Boutte. \u201cHe keeps on making plays, making me look good. I\u2019m proud to be able to give him some throws to make a play on it. A one-handed catch, not much else to say about it. It was pretty sweet.
\u201cKind of the same type of throw as my first one to him. And he made an even better catch this time. Props to Kayshon for keep on playing. He was huge for us tonight. That receiver room just keeps on doing good things. Good job in the running game. I think I could have more chances downfield and make better throws. But you can\u2019t be too hard on myself and move on to the next one.\u201d
Wide receivers Stefon Diggs and DeMario Douglas also caught touchdown passes in the win, though Boutte led the team with 75 receiving yards on three catches.
Boutte had a phenomenal start to the season but slowed down as he dealt with a hamstring injury and concussion. He finished the year with 33 catches for 551 yards with six touchdowns.
He also had a strong performance in the Patriots\u2019 wild-card win over the Chargers, collecting four passes for 66 yards.<\/p>\n
