In a lengthy Instagram Story statement, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham\u2019s eldest child made an effort to \u201ctell the truth about \u2026 some of the lies that have been printed\u201d from his parents allegedly \u201ccontinu[ing] to go to the press\u201d about himself and wife Nicola Peltz.
\u201cI do not want to reconcile with my family,\u201d the 26-year-old wrote. \u201cI\u2019m not being controlled, I\u2019m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family.\u201d
Brooklyn continued, \u201cFor my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family [with] performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships. \u2026 Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they\u2019ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade.\u201d
Noting that \u201cthe truth always comes out,\u201d he claimed David, 50, and Victoria, 51, \u201chave been trying endlessly to ruin [his] relationship\u201d with Peltz, 31, since before the couple walked down the aisle in April 2022.
\u201cIt hasn\u2019t stopped,\u201d he alleged. \u201cMy mum cancelled making Nicola\u2019s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.\u201d
David and Victoria allegedly \u201crepeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe\u201d Brooklyn into \u201csigning away the rights to\u201d his name ahead of the Florida nuptials.
\u201cMy holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since,\u201d he claimed. \u201cDuring the wedding planning, my mum went so far as to call me \u2018evil\u2019 because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra and Nicola\u2019s Naunni at our table because they both didn\u2019t have their husbands. Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours.\u201d
Brooklyn went on to write that the Beckhams \u201cvalue public promotion and endorsements above all else\u201d because \u201cbrand Beckham comes first.\u201d
He explained, \u201cFamily \u2018love\u2019 is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it\u2019s at the expense of our
professional obligations.
\u201cWe\u2019ve gone out of our way for years to show up and support at every fashion show, every party and every press activity to show \u2018our perfect family‘,\u201d Brooklyn continued. \u201cBut the one time my wife asked for my mum\u2019s support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused.\u201d
He hit back directly at \u201cthe narrative that [his] wife controls\u201d him, calling this notion \u201ccompletely backwards.\u201d
Brooklyn insisted, \u201cI have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared. I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief.\u201d
He concluded, \u201cMy wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.\u201d
