Instead, he got a slammed door — literally.
The California Democratic governor, long seen as a media darling and possible future presidential contender, was denied entry to the USA House in Davos, Switzerland, the official U.S. delegation headquarters at the World Economic Forum. According to POLITICO and Newsom’s own press office, the snub came “under pressure from the White House and State Department.”
Newsom had been scheduled to speak with Fortune — the official media partner of the event — at the venue, a 19th-century church turned into the U.S. pavilion. But in a dramatic twist, his access was revoked, prompting his team to vent frustration on X.
Adding fuel to the fire, a White House spokeswoman didn’t hold back, telling The Daily Wire: “No one in Davos knows who third-rate governor Newscum is or why he is frolicking around Switzerland instead of fixing the many problems he created in California.”
Newsom has been in Europe this week trashing Trump and grandstanding in front of international media, but he was forced to watch from the sidelines as Trump took center stage and even gave him a backhanded compliment. “Gavin’s a good guy,” Trump said mid-speech, before reminding the crowd of how his administration had helped California in the past.
Newsom fired back, calling Trump’s address “remarkably boring” and shaming world leaders for not standing up to him. “I should have brought a bunch of knee pads for all the world leaders,” he scoffed, before accusing them of complicity and cowardice.
Meanwhile, members of Trump’s administration had no trouble getting into USA House. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent didn’t waste the opportunity, hammering Newsom’s track record: “Outward migration from California, a gigantic budget deficit, the largest homeless population in America.”
This public snub at a global event raises serious questions: Is the Biden administration distancing itself from Newsom? Is this a calculated move to keep potential 2028 rivals in check? Whatever the reason, one thing is clear — Newsom may have arrived in Switzerland with presidential dreams, but he left with a bruised ego and a locked door.
Daily Wire
The post Governor Gavin Newsom Was Reportedly Not Allowed Entry To US Delegation HQ In Davos appeared first on Red Right Patriot.

Gavin Newsom went to Davos looking for a global spotlight.
