<!--DEBUG:--><!--DEBUG:dc3-united-states-mix-in-english-pdf-2--><!--DEBUG:--><!--DEBUG:dc3-united-states-mix-in-english-pdf-2--><!--DEBUG-spv-->{"id":3459231,"date":"2026-02-05T14:44:29","date_gmt":"2026-02-05T12:44:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nhub.news\/?p=3459231"},"modified":"2026-02-06T09:50:43","modified_gmt":"2026-02-06T07:50:43","slug":"gayle-king-fights-back-tears-as-she-discusses-savannah-guthries-missing-mother-nancy-unimaginable-situation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/nhub.news\/de\/2026\/02\/gayle-king-fights-back-tears-as-she-discusses-savannah-guthries-missing-mother-nancy-unimaginable-situation\/","title":{"rendered":"Gayle King Fights Back Tears as She Discusses Savannah Guthrie\u2019s Missing Mother Nancy: \u2018Unimaginable Situation\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Gayle King fought back tears while discussing the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie\u2019s mom, Nancy, during the Thursday morning broadcast of CBS Mornings<\/b><br \/>\nGayle King struggled to hold back tears as she addressed the news surrounding Today host Savannah Guthrie, whose mother, Nancy Guthrie, has gone missing.<br \/>\u201cWe\u2019re starting things a little differently this morning because like you, we\u2019re all waking up this morning with very heavy hearts [and] praying for our friend and our colleague, Savannah Guthrie,\u201d King, 71, said at the start of her Thursday, February 5, broadcast on CBS Mornings.<br \/>\u201cHer mom, Nancy, is still missing at this hour and late last night, the Guthrie family went public with a very emotional message,\u201d King continued, referring to the video shared by Savannah, 54, her sister, Annie, and her brother, Camron, to their mother, Nancy, and her potential abductor on Wednesday, February 4.<br \/>The Guthrie siblings pleaded for proof of life and said they were \u201cready to talk\u201d after hearing reports about a \u201cransom letter in the media.\u201d They added, \u201cAs a family, we are doing everything that we can.\u201d<br \/>King was overcome with emotion while on-air for the Thursday morning broadcast. \u201cWe are all wishing that Nancy comes home,\u201d she said. \u201cIt is an unimaginable situation for the Guthrie family.\u201d<br \/>\u201cSavannah just got to me where she says \u2018mommy,\u2019\u201d King continued. \u201cTo hear a grown woman say, \u2018Mommy, we\u2019re all looking for you.\u2019 Everybody\u2019s looking for her.\u201d<br \/>In a police update on February 4, authorities confirmed there is no suspect or person of interest at this time.<br \/>Many public figures have rallied in support of the Guthrie family, as hundreds gathered for a candlelight vigil to pray for Nancy\u2019s safe return on Wednesday night.<br \/>Nancy was last seen Saturday, January 31, at her home in Tucson, Arizona, and was reported missing the following morning after a friend noticed that she didn\u2019t show up to her Sunday morning church service.<br \/>Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos exclusively shared with Us Weekly on Monday, February 2, that authorities are still hopeful it\u2019s a \u201csearch-and-rescue mission\u201d and that Nancy will be found \u201csafe and sound.\u201d<br \/>\u201cThis is an 84-year-old lady who is safe in her own home asleep, and she is taken,\u201d Nanos shared with Us. \u201cAnd that should never happen.\u201d<br \/>The Pima County Sheriff labeled Nancy\u2019s home \u201ca crime scene\u201d and said that authorities are following all possible leads and potential motives.<br \/>While speaking exclusively to Us, Nanos shared that Annie was the last person to see Nancy. It was noted that Annie said Nancy didn\u2019t raise any \u201cred flags\u201d with her behavior prior to her disappearance. \u201cWe have a start point,\u201d Nanos said. \u201cThe family took her home from dinner at about 9:30 to 9:45 [p.m.]. So we would back that up to even say 9 or 8:30 p.m. to start looking.\u201d<br \/>Meanwhile, the FBI is working to authenticate a potential ransom note sent to various outlets while also analyzing cellphone data and information from nearby cell towers in addition to expediting warrants to search Nancy\u2019s digital accounts.<br \/>\u201cSomething unusual at that house occurred that made us go, \u2018Wow, something\u2019s wrong here.
