A gas station in Arizona turned over surveillance footage of a \u2018vehicle of interest\u2019 to authorities amid the ongoing search for Nancy Guthrie<\/b>
\nInvestigators are analyzing a new clue as they continue their desperate search for Today cohost Savannah Guthrie\u2019s mom, Nancy Guthrie.
Surveillance footage from a Circle K in Arizona captured a \u201cvehicle of interest,\u201d according to NBC News, and has been turned over to authorities.
As Us Weekly previously reported, Nancy, 84 was last seen on January 31, just before 10 p.m., after having dinner at her daughter Anne and her husband Tommaso Cioni\u2019s house. Tommaso allegedly dropped his mother-in-law off at her Catalina Foothills home at 9:48 p.m, roughly a 15 minute drive from the gas station where the vehicle of interest was later seen.
Nancy was reported missing on Sunday, February 1, after the elderly woman failed to show up to a church event and police immediately began their investigation into the case.
\u201cSomething unusual at that house occurred that made us go, \u2018Wow, something\u2019s wrong here. Something doesn\u2019t fit,\u2019\u201d Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos exclusively told Us on Monday. \u201cWe\u2019re gonna pull all the stops and go at all angles. We really do hope it\u2019s a search-and-rescue mission and we find her and she\u2019s safe and sound. But it would be unjust if we didn\u2019t look at what\u2019s in front of us and go, \u2018We need to act.\u2019\u201d
Nanos continued, \u201cThis is an 84-year-old lady who is safe in her own home asleep, and she is taken. And that should never happen.\u201d
On Wednesday, February 4, the Guthrie family released a video pleading with Nancy\u2019s potential abductor or abductors to let the siblings know she was alive.
\u201cWe are ready to talk. However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated,\u201d Savannah said in the video, flanked by her brother and sister. \u201cWe need to know without a doubt that she is alive and that you have her. We want to hear from you and we are ready to listen. Please, reach out to us.\u201d
The federal government has also gotten involved in the wake of Nancy\u2019s shocking disappearance. That same day, President Donald Trump said he\u2019d spoken personally with Savannah and \u201clet her know that I am directing ALL Federal Law Enforcement to be at the family\u2019s, and Local Law Enforcement\u2019s, complete disposal, IMMEDIATELY,\u201d in a post shared to Truth Social on February 4.
Two days later, Trump, 79, revealed authorities had discovered \u201cclues\u201d connected to the investigation that he believed were \u201cvery strong.\u201d
\u201cI think we could have some answers coming up fairly soon,\u201d he added while speaking with the press on Air Force One. \u201cI\u2019m not talking about a search, I\u2019m talking about a solution. We have some things that will maybe come out reasonably soon from [the] DOJ or FBI or whoever that could be \u2014 could be definitive \u2026 A lot of things have happened in regard to that horrible situation in the last couple of hours.\u201d
On Saturday, February 7, the Pima County Sheriff\u2019s Office confirmed in a statement that there are still no suspects connected to the case. Additionally, they did not clarify whether the vehicle of interest has been officially linked to Nancy\u2019s disappearance, noting that it is \u201cstandard practice to seek any video available from nearby residences or businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n
