One such example includes HP’s Lap Dock , a premium dock released alongside its Elite x3 smartphone powered by Windows 10 Mobile, along with other similar solutions such as the crowd-funded NexDock.
Now, a new contender, Miraxess, has thrown its hat into the ring in the form of the Mirabook. Compatible with both Microsoft’s Continuum functionality in Windows 10 Mobile as well as Andromium for Android, major specs for the Mirabook will include:
The convenient inclusion of USB Type-C connectivity will also allow the Mirabook to charge up a connected smartphone, which may be of particular interest for those with basic computing requirements while on the go. Potentially, with Microsoft planning to bring the full Windows 10 experience to ARM hardware , the future of devices such as the Mirabook could become hugely popular if Microsoft does indeed create “ the most ultimate mobile device. “
Miraxess is planning to launch the Mirabook via an Indiegogo crowd-funding campaign in March or April this year, targeting a price of $299, half the cost of HP’s Lap Dock.
