Menlo Park-based social networking firm, Facebook Inc. is reportedly said to be testing a second News Feed, which comes with a \u2018 Rocket-shaped blue icon \u2018. Several online reports say the feature has shown up for several users across mobile platforms providing them with content that the company thinks they will find interesting minus followed them.
This Feed is said to provide Facebook users with feeds of pictures, videos, and posts from sources that they do not even follow but are similar to their interests or likes.
TechCrunch quotes Facebook saying, \u201cWe are testing a complementary feed of popular articles, videos, and photos, customized for each person based on content that might be interesting to them. We\u2019ve heard from people that they want an easy way to explore new content they haven\u2019t connected with yet.\u201d
The News Feed feature has since showed up for people who haven\u2019t opted in for the beta version of the Facebook app. And while the earlier testing was reportedly limited to Android Beta users, it is reported that the feature is now being tested at a larger scale and with more mobile platforms.
Notably, before ending last month, Facebook had launched its \u2018Facebook stories and Camera Effects \u2018 to its mobile apps.
The Facebook Stories feature , allows users to share multiple photos and videos as part of a visual collection on top of News Feed for only 24 hours \u2013 just like its rival SnapChat. After 24 hours, won\u2019t be seen on the user\u2019s Timeline or News Feed unless the user posts them again.
To add a story, users will need to click on the Your Story icon in the Stories bar on top of the News Feed.<\/p>\n
