During the holiday season, Nintendo had a bit of problem when it came to replenishing stock of its coveted NES Classic Edition. The console launched in November and was a huge hit, but many consumers couldn’t get their hands on it and still can’t even to this day. In order not to repeat the same mistake, Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aimé has vowed that the company will have two million of its $299.99 Switch consoles ready for its launch.
While two million units sounds like a lot, this will be the total number for the entire world in the first month. Fils-Aimé did not discuss how the stock would be distributed, but if the console proves to be popular, there could be a shortage for quite some time.
