Alex’s Bar to host the All Good Things Fest Nov. 19.
If you think music is a good thing, then Alex’s Bar has a small festival just up your alley.
The All Good Things Fest features more than a dozen musical acts performing back to back on Nov. 19 from 2-10 p.m.
The show is headlined by Here Lies Man, a quintet that mixes West African music and heavy rock – think Black Sabbath playing Afrobeat.
The band will be releasing a new EP on Nov. 24 called “Animal Noises,” so expect to hear new music from the group.
They’re joined on the packed bill by Limms, an L. A based quartet that mixes hip-hop with shoegaze, jazz, and ambient sounds.
And if you miss 1990s grunge, Long Beach’s Spare Parts for Broken Hearts will take you back to the days of dark moody lyrics, heavy guitars and loud feedback.
After a lineup change that added a new bassist and drummer, the band will be heading to the studio in January to record new music that founder Sarah Green said would be even more grunge oriented.
“Spare Parts just got heavier. I’m really excited about the direction we’re going,” Green said.
Pomona rockers The Violet Mindfield along with funk outfit Chola Orange are also scheduled to perform.
Besides music, All Good Things includes an art installation show and food.
When: 2-10 p.m. Nov. 19
