Electronic Arts and Criterion Games officially reveal the existence of Burnout Paradise Remastered by way of a new trailer, with the game set to launch next month.
About a month ago, a retail listing appeared online showing the impending availability of an HD version of Burnout Paradise, hinting that the racing game was on deck to receive an updated version for current generation platforms. Now, it looks as if the post was accurate to a point, as Electronic Arts and Criterion Games have officially revealed that a remastered iteration of the title is on the way, and will arrive as early as next month.
As detailed below in the reveal trailer for Burnout Paradise Remastered, the enhanced version of the racing game is set to release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 16,2018, with a PC version coming at some point later this year. The forthcoming remaster is set to include all of the original game’s eight pieces of DLC from the Year of Paradise, and will be visually optimized in 4K for the PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X.
Those who are EA Access members will be able to start racing in Burnout Paradise Remastered as early as March 9,2018 thanks to the Play First Trial that will include up to 10 hours of unrestricted gameplay. Electronic Arts has also revealed that those who wish to pony up the dough for the updated racing title will need to be prepared to spend $40, which will include the base game and all of the aforementioned DLC.
Taking all of this into consideration, fans will likely be delighted by the news of Burnout Paradise Remastered coming to current generation platforms, as many consider it to be one of the best racing games of last-gen. It’s been a quite a while since we’ve heard anything in regards to a new entry to the series, with Criterion Games having confirmed a couple of years ago that no new entries were in the works at the time. Hopefully, though, the release of Burnout Paradise Remastered will set the stage for another installment to come.
